Be sure to watch out for the new .45 calibre Deagle when you come upon it, as the high damagecannonhandgun can crack a level 3 helmet in two headshots. That is, if you’re able to control the recoil enough to land your shots. We’re also dropping a new, heavily armored assault vehicle in the BRDM-2 to win chicken dinners on land and sea. But what about the air? The new ledge grab feature will help you there, as you can now jump, climb and vertically navigate the Battlegrounds in ways you couldn’t before.

Communications between squad mates just got way easier with the introduction of Radio Messages, short burst on-screen text that allows players to call out items and audibles throughout the match. You can learn more about Radio Messages, our latest weapon and vehicle, bug fixes and much more in the completepatch notes here.[www.pubg.com]

Our next Survivor Pass is right around the corner, but until it kicks off, be sure to earn BP through the Survival Rewards System to get cool loot. So drop in, loot yourself a Deagle and blast your way to a chicken dinner.

Dev Letter: Rustle/Rattle Sounds Improvement

Among the updates to gameplay balance we released in the latest patch (Patch 27), we made an improvement to the sounds generated by a character's movement, which is a critical sound for gameplay. To provide detailed information on the Rustle/Rattle changes, we would like to explain the changes thoroughly and give some before and after examples.

Previous Character Movement Sounds

In order to continually improve realistic elements in PUBG, our DEV teams recently turned their focus to the sounds that are generated from character movement. Previously, when a character was sprinting at full speed, using the shift key, the character emitted a fixed amount of Rustle/Rattle sounds. The video below gives a good example of this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1EORFyDGVg<Previous movement sounds while running with and without equipment>

As you can see from the video above, the character was still emitting rustling sounds in the early game, even before acquiring any equipment. There were cases where rustling sounds were not being emitted when walking and walking slowly.

Survivor Pass 3: Wild Card is now available!

Today we’re excited to announce the launch of our third Survivor Pass, Wild Card!

Survivor Pass: Wild Card offers a mixture of great new cosmetic items with a spy film theme, allowing players to drop into their favorite map dressed to kill!

Wild Card works in much the same way as our previous Survivor Passes, with the main pass allowing everyone to earn rewards for free. Players who want access to more rewards, including several great new cosmetic pieces, can purchase the Premium Survivor Pass for $9.99. Doing so immediately earns you the Floral Bomber Jacket item and gives you access to some additional rewards for completing premium missions.

Players have 10 weeks to complete as much of their pass as they can, earning rewards and coupons as they achieve new levels. You will earn either a Blue, Yellow, or White coupon with each level up, which can be exchanged for random crate keys in the Coupon Shop. For those who wish to skip ahead or supplement their current level, level packs are available for purchase once again, immediately granting you the rewards from those levels.

In addition to what we’ve done previously with Survivor Passes, we’ve adjusted the difficulty of missions overall, and have added a new series of challenge missions that revolve around your skills with certain weapons. Completing these missions will unlock a special skin for that weapon, so be sure to complete these if you’re looking for a stylish new way to show off your Tommy Gun, Beryl M762, S686, UMP45, or M16A4 skills!

Survivor Pass: Wild Card is available now and runs until 7pm PDT on June 4th. Complete your missions, earn XP, and dress to kill!

Update #27 - Now Live

PUBG's latest content release, Update #27, is now available on live servers and we're excited to announce with it the launch of our third Survivor Pass, Wild Card! Read all about it here.

Check out the patch report below for a rundown of what to expect in this update!

To see all the changes included in this update in detail, head over to our patch notes.

This update brings the brand new Survivor Pass 3: Wild Card! With up to 60 rewards available. In celebration of the PUBG 2 year anniversary, we’ve also be added a free 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CAP to the store.

Survival Title System Season 3 has also now been launched! Survival Points from Season 2 have been soft-reset, meaning you don’t have to start completely from scratch. Players who reached the threshold to claim season rewards will receive them soon.

Major changes have been made to the Flare Gun, including quality of life improvements. We’ve added the new MP5K SMG to Vikendi, bumped up the loot on Erangel, made lots of changes to weapon balance, including making the M16A4 stronger, and also reduced aim punch.

Dev Letter: Patch 27 Gameplay Balance

We recently released Update #27 on the Test Server, which included lots of changes, including the new MP5K SMG, Survivor Pass 3, and changes to the Survival Title System for season 3. In addition to these, we made quite a few changes to gameplay balance and wanted to go a little more in depth on our thought process behind those in this Dev Letter.

Update #27 is the first major balance patch of 2019. We introduce balance patches such as these to keep the game evolving and prevent gameplay from becoming stale. Our goal is to release a pretty major balance patch roughly once per quarter, to provide a more diverse PUBG experience and keep the game evolving and feeling fresh.

Changes to Bonus/Gift Code Policy

PUBG has been generating various codes for cosmetics items since March of 2017 and over 5 million item codes have been distributed globally through events and promotions.

Distributed codes have historically had no expiration date, which has lead to cases of codes not being used for their intended purpose, or otherwise being exploited/abused. Therefore, in the coming weeks, we will be deactivating certain existing item codes to prevent further abuse and facilitate a healthy item economy.

These changes will also allow us to continue offering players opportunities to obtain item codes through events and promotions well into the future.

PUBG 2nd Anniversary Letter

On March 23, PUBG celebrates its two-year anniversary since releasing to the public, and what an amazing two years it has been! We’ve witnessed a gaming revolution with the birth of the Battle Royale genre, grew and learned together through beta and early access, and watched our game rise from a small title developed by an even smaller team to one of the most played games in the world. We’ve chosen this day as our overall PUBG anniversary for all platforms, as we felt it best reflects our game’s humble beginnings.

Reflecting on 2018 specifically, we began to tackle some of the issues that came with the lessons we’ve learned as a company, releasing several quality of life improvements and recommitting to higher quality, more stable builds. 2018 also saw the launch of our Training Mode and two brand new maps, the small but savage island map of Sanhok and the beautiful icy landscapes of Vikendi. Lastly, we brought the high intensity PUBG experience to our fans on console with official releases on both XBOX and PlayStation.

Last year also saw the growth of competitive PUBG with our PGI tournament in Berlin, the continuation of Broadcaster Royale tournaments alongside Twitch, and the organization of multiple PUBG pro esports leagues all across the world.

We’re extremely proud of everything we’ve accomplished in 2018 and could not have achieved any of it without your love and support. As our thanks to you and to commemorate our second anniversary, a special anniversary item will be available in-game for free from 3/27 - 4/24 KST on PC and 4/9 - 5/7 on Console. To claim it, visit the in-game store and “purchase” the free item on PC or simply login during the event dates on Console.

But just because we’re celebrating how far we’ve come doesn’t mean we’re not aware of what we still need to accomplish. We’re currently deep into planning improvements to our first map, Erangel. The first changes in this process, increasing and improving loot, have already deployed to test servers, where we welcome your feedback.

We can never properly thank you for your unparalleled support, but on a day such as this, we are happy, we are humbled, and we are more dedicated than ever to making PUBG the best game it can possibly be.

Before we go, we want to leave you with a special message from CH Kim, the CEO of PUBG Corporation.

Happy Anniversary and we’ll see you on the Battlegrounds!

PUBG Update #27 - Test Server Update

Update #27 is now on the PUBG: Test Server and is scheduled to hit Live Servers next week. We’ll keep you updated and make an announcement once it’s live!

First off, this update brings the brand new Survivor Pass 3: Wild Card! With up to 60 rewards available. In celebration of the PUBG 2 year anniversary, we’ll also be adding a free 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CAP to the store. Lots of changes included in this update, many of which were thanks in huge part to great player feedback.

Major changes have been made to the Flare Gun, including quality of life improvements. We’ve added the new MP5K SMG to Vikendi, bumped up the loot on Erangel, made lots of changes to weapon balance, including making the M16A4 stronger, and also reduced aim punch. We haven’t forgotten bug fixes and we’ve got plenty listed below!

Dev Letter: Erangel Loot Rebalance

Two years ago, we introduced the world to Erangel, the first map released for PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS and for many, their first ever Battle Royale map experience. Since then we’ve continued to evolve our game and release new maps, leaving Erangel stuck somewhere between the core PUBG experience and slightly outdated. Knowing this, we have been continuously collecting and analyzing your feedback, especially when it comes to loot and spawn rate issues. After serious consideration of all these factors, we have made the decision to remaster Erangel. We understand this task will be challenging. To somehow bring Erangel to the visual and tactical fidelity of more recent maps, while keeping the magic and nostalgia that made Erangel and PUBG popular in the first place will be no easy task. That’s exactly why we want to improve and test it alongside our players.

A project like this requires an immense amount of effort and will be completed in phases that will take place over several months. During the project, we will be releasing sections of the overall remaster for testing and feedback as we complete and apply the changes. For the first step in such a huge change, we will first be adjusting the loot and spawn rates of Erangel, which we plan to apply to the test server tomorrow. Today, we would like to share the direction and the intention of these changes to loot.

PUBG Player Care Package Test

A while back, we launched the Player Care Package as a way to distribute rewards for completing missions and logging in during special events. Unfortunately, the system had some issues that led to its temporary removal.

We've been hard at work updating it and we're now ready to run a stability test with the latest version. Starting March 14, players who login to the game will receive temporary items through the Player Care Package to stress test the updated system. Please see below for full specifics.

Thank you in advance and as always, your testing and feedback will be valuable in helping us make necessary improvements for the future return of this feature.

Test Schedule:

  • Start: Mar 14 3am PDT / Mar 14 11am CET / Mar 14 7pm KST
  • End: Mar 15 3am PDT / Mar 15 11am CET / Mar 15 7pm KST
